Heintzman piano4bThe Key to the Red Chamber is an original seven chapter manuscript by Raymond Chow, created in collaboration between him and his two associates, Ryan Chow and Cate B. Boudreau.

The manuscript was originally written as a pitch for a film development project and was based on inspiration from Raymond Chow’s rare Heintzman Jade Piano of which is decorated with Jade representations of the characters from the famed story, Dream of a Red Chamber by Cao Xueqin. After discovering the origin of the piano and the sharing of the family name with Cao Xueqin, Raymond Chow proceeded with composing over three hundred piano pieces and wrote this modern retelling of the Chinese classic.
